The TAM community lost a wonderful, vibrant and enthusiastic TAM graduate on June 11, 2015. Rachel Yingling (TAM Class of 2008) will be remembered very fondly for her commitment to the program as a student and alum, her passion for Spain and the Spanish language, her creative gifts and talent for writing, and her excellent sense of fun.
We wish to issue our deepest sympathies to her family members and to thank them for sharing her with all of us here, in Madrid and in DC. We feel grateful to have known her.
Rachel’s family has identified the Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation as strong source of support and energy for Rachel during her four-year fight. In addition, the TAM Office will work over the next year to establish a memorial scholarship in Rachel’s honor which will help to support a TAM student who plans to study in Madrid.
