The Future of Infrastructure Investment:

A discussion on how to increase infrastructure in the United States & learning from the European Union investment plan:
Please join the Center for European Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Atlantic Council’s Global Business & Economics Program, and the Delegation of the European Union to the United States for a timely public panel discussion on how to increase infrastructure investment in the United States.

Rebuilding the United States is a central component of the Trump administration’s economic agenda. Our discussion will focus on the administration’s current plan to spend $200 billion to spur private investment with the goal of reaching a total of $1 trillion in infrastructure investment. The panelists will discuss useful lessons from the European Union’s Investment Plan, in particular the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The discussion will shed light on how risk sharing instruments and methods to catalyze private sector investment can boost economic growth and prosperity.
