We are very excited to announce that, pending agreement signature, our long-standing overseas partner, the Humboldt University of Berlin, plans to join TAM’s European Governance track and offer a double degree. TAM students will thus have the option to study in Berlin across all three of our program paths and will be able to earn both the UNC MA in Political Science and the Humboldt MA simultaneously through the European Governance track, if they so choose.

As Professor Claudia Matthes of Humboldt University notes:

“Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is happy to join TAM in the European Governance track. Becoming part of the double degree scheme offers new opportunities that we consider an enrichment of our international study options and fosters our long-standing collaboration with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The European Governance track will enable students to participate in courses on the EU’s Foreign and Regional Policies, in the Facets of Europeanisation module and to take other classes from the Department of Social Science’s wide range of offers in the field of political science or sociology.”

In Berlin, the European Governance track will enable students to participate in courses on the EU’s Foreign and Regional Policies, in the Facets of Europeanisation module and to take other classes from the Department of Social Science’s wide range of offerings in the field of political science or sociology.

Erasmus + funding from the EU will enable Humboldt-Universität to award a limited number of student stipends to TAM students until 2023. Some of this funding will be tied to internships both in Berlin and DC.
