On May 3rd, two representatives from the North Carolina chapter of SWEA, a Swedish women’s organization, came to the UNC FedEx Global Education Center to host a fika – a traditional Swedish snack time. The TAM students who will study in Gothenburg next year enjoyed chocolate cake and cinnamon buns along with coffee and tea. They learned about some of the Swedish customs and cultural norms as well as a few practical tips for their year ahead in Sweden.
